The Story
Nellie’s Patch is named after our pet cat, who wanders through her “patch”. Our quintessential English flower garden is where we grow our herbs and flowers. These are incorporated into the hand crafted soap and are used in our wedding flowers. No artificial fertilizers, or sprays are used to grow them. Our equines provide all the fertilizers we need!
Our handmade, natural soaps, which are palm oil free, have no nasties , no artificial colours, no parabens ,no. sodium lauryl sulphate .Our plain soap (Totally Plain Soap) has no color either.
Nellie's Patch soaps are as natural as possible and rich in shea butter, renowned for its moisturising properties, along with essential oils, herbs or flowers. Our kitchen is full of flowers we are drying, and the smell of fresh rose petals is divine. Many herbs have their own specific properties.
We use no palm oil. We are concerned about the detrimental impact on the environment that a large percentage of palm oil production creates. The effects on wildlife, concern us. Orangutan survival is at stake. Remember the “Orang-utan Diaries” and "Dying For a Biscuit" on the BBC, then you will know why we don’t use it. All our other oils come from sustainable sources, and like all our ingredients they are not tested on animals. Nellie’s Patch soaps are made using the traditional cold process and are left to mature, then packed by hand . You can be sure that this is a true artisan soap, made at home from start to finish. We do not buy in soaps and put our own label on them. Unlike others our palm oil free soap has good lathering properties. Our soaps are all vegetarian and vegan and are not tested on animals. They have been made with care, patience and integrity. We hope you enjoy them ,and get a feel for our Shropshire, country lifestyle when you use them.
We have recently formed a partnership with International Animal Rescue. We will be donating 10p from every 100g bar and £1.00 from every gift box sold . This will go to providing orangutan sanctuary. Read more about them and their brilliant work by clicking on to the picture of the adorable orangutan Montil above.
Our maturing cottage garden flowers have now enabled us to launch our Shropshire Wedding Service. Our flowers can create that lovely country wedding theme , but also more contemporary designs.
Our friend Louis Barnett from "Chokolit" makes delicous palm oil free chocolate. You can buy it directly by clicking on to their banner below.
